The journey to Europe comes at a time when the area is confronted with numerous problems and options, according to the Prime Minister.
This would be PM Modi's first foreign visit this year. He would be visiting Germany, Denmark and France.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a departing statement on Sunday before of his first trip to Europe this year, to Germany. "My trip to Europe comes at a time when the continent is confronted with numerous problems and options. "Through my interactions, I hope to enhance the spirit of cooperation with our European friends, who are essential allies in India's quest for peace and development," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
PM Modi's trip to Europe comes as the Ukraine conflict enters its ninth week. He will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen, and French President Emmanuel Macron, who was recently re-elected for a second term, in Paris.
"President Macron was recently re-elected, and my visit just ten days after the election will allow me to not only express my personal congratulations in person, but also to renew our close friendship." This will also allow us to set the tone for the next chapter of the India-France Strategic Partnership," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his farewell statement, which was posted on his official website.
"During his travel to Germany, France, and Denmark, Prime Minister Modi will exchange India's ideas on Ukraine," foreign secretary Vinay Kwatra was cited as saying by news agency ANI.
His meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel is expected to focus on an exchange of ideas "on strategic, regional, and global concerns that affect us both."
From Monday, the prime minister will be in Germany for two days. He will spend the next two days in Denmark for the second edition of the India-Nordic Summit, followed by a stopover in Paris before returning home.
"My trip to Berlin will provide me the chance to have in-depth bilateral talks with Chancellor Scholz, whom I met at the G20 last year in his previous post as Vice-Chancellor and Finance Minister.
